Sierra Senior Services is a community-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2001.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for seniors in the
Tahoe / Truckee area.
 

Goals

v Serve as a resource to meet senior needs.

v Provide services that help promote healthy aging.

v Collaborate with community groups and organizations to support
     senior programs and services.

    2006 Statistics

v 21,070 total meals served, including 12,788 home-delivered      
     meals.

v 80-100 seniors and disabled adults receive nutritious meals daily.

v 40% of home-delivered meal participants are unable to cook or
     shop for themselves.

v 90% of meal participants are at or below the current HHS poverty
     guidelines.

v 3,200 seniors participated in health, wellness, enrichment and
     educational programs.

v 4,600 hours of volunteer meal program support annually.

v Provided 1,172 community resources and referrals.

v Provided 1,580 client referrals and follow-up.
